Happy Wednesday, let’s all watch a sports thing!
Wait, come back! Don’t let the Sportsy-ness throw you off!
It’s only 5 minutes-ish, y’all, we got this. A chance to lift your heart and also do some tiny resistance training so your mind won’t find it unbearable to sit still for longer than the span of a Tik-Tok or whatever.
Ughhhhhhhhhh I’m pleasantly indifferent at best to baseball, but I love this. People can be amazing and minds are fascinating.
Collective energy did that shit!
Release of try too hard made man hit ball so far!
Anyway, I hope you watched that video and joy-sobbed a little bit, or at least released something you’re trying too hard to be real good at.
Because you don’t have to be good at stuff.
Not really. Not in the grand scope of your value.
You can just let the soft animal of your body be squishy like a pool floatie (or whatever it is that Mary Oliver said).
And maybe, with that letting go, peace can come back to your mind and joy can come back to your body.
Love,
Annie B.
PS: If you wanna go deeper into feels, check out the Netflix documentary about Trea Turner’s “Turnaround” (and the man who called for the standing ovation). This short little 25-minute doc goes into home, family, sports, and mental health in a way that will fill your cup right up.
PPS: One last benediction: may your soul be as loose as the bowls of a girl who keeps raw broccoli in her pockets, AMEN.
Aww *literally wipes away a tear*
